Here are the events happening each day of the festival

Tasting Penn Cove: Coupeville’s Mussel Mingle ($25)

5:30pm-8:30pm Coupeville Rec Hall

Join us for “Prairie Dog” Polish dogs, savory Penn Cove mussels prepared by Serendipity Catering, wine selected by bayleaf and Flyers’ famous house brews.  Live music by Broken Banjo.

Tickets ($25) sales open Monday, February 13th at the Coupeville Chamber of Commerce, Aqua, and bayleaf. Must be 21+ with a valid ID.

Mussel Farm Tours ($10)

Leaves from the Coupeville Wharf

Visit the Penn Cove Shellfish Farm.  Tours last 1 hour and are led by Penn Cove Shellfish staff.  Last boat leaves at 5pm.  Tickets sold at MusselFest Headquarters (Coupeville Rec Hall).  First 100 kids ride for FREE with a paying adult. Youth tickets sponsored by Front Street Grill.

Shifty Sailors Sing Songs of the Sea

Coupeville Rec Hall

Enjoy “hometown and international performers singing old and new songs of the sea.”  This all-male singing group from Whidbey Island is a festival favorite.

11am – 3:30pm

Mussel Chowder Tasting ($10)

Tickets go on sale at 10am at MusselFest Headquarters (Coupeville Rec Hall)

Visit local restaurants and guest partner chefs, sample their secret mussel chowder recipes and vote for your favorite.  Tickets sell
out quickly!  Be sure to purchase them when you first arrive at the festival.

Mussel Shuttles (FREE!)

Travel in-style on the “Chowder Tasting Route!”  The Mussel Shuttles run a continuous loop from downtown Coupeville, out to the Captain Whidbey Inn and back along the route to the South Main Street participating restaurants and parking lots.  Shuttles sponsored and provided by Whidbey/SeaTac Shuttle & Charters.

Waterfront Beer Garden

Coupeville Rec Hall

Live it up at the CHWA Waterfront Beer Garden!  Mussels, live music, locally crafted brews and wine, and crackling bonfires.  Sponsored by Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association.

Penn Cove Shellfish Mussel, Music, Beer & Wine Garden

Across from Coupeville Rec Hall

Amazing music played all day long and spicy, Southwestern mussels served from 10 – 7pm.  Penn Cove Shellfish will be featuring fine craft beers from Flyers of Oak Harbor, Sierra-Nevada, and Seattle-Maritime.  All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Coupeville, the Coupeville High School Science Scholarship and the Oak Harbor High School Culinary program.

Get reeling!  Kids, come throw your line off the pier and fish for treats and treasure.  Catch a golden mussel and your wildest, sweetest dreams may come true.  Sponsored by Front Street Realty.

3pm – 3:30pm

Mussel Eating Competition ($5)

Coupeville Rec Hall

You do not want to miss this!  Who will take home the coveted MusselFest Crown? Whoever can eat three 16 oz. cups of mussels first!  Space is limited to 20 contestants.  Sign up at MusselFest Headquarters (Coupeville Rec Hall).

MusselFest Passbook

Spend $50 at participating merchants and enter to win prizes up to $100 in gift certificates.  Visit the “Shell Shocked?” information booth at MusselFest Headquarters for details.
